WHAT IS AN EISTEDDFOD? (pronounced roughly Eye-steth-foh)
An Eisteddfod is simply a sharing of arts and crafts and talents by the
community, and for the community. You need not be a trained or professional
artist, writer, etc. in order to share at the Eisteddfod. If you have
a talent or craft, or ability that gives you an outlet for self-expression,
please put something together to share with the rest of us.
In the past we have had songs, dances, invocations, short plays, paintings,
poetry readings, drumming, crafts, drawings, sketches, fabric design, handmade
clothing, and interpretive readings.
You may even share a reading, work of art, etc. that is not original (i.e.:
not created by you), but has inspired you in some way and would be appropriate
for a gathering in honor of Brigit, Goddess of the arts and crafts and metalwork.
There will be an area to display visual arts and an area for performing
arts.
The informal atmosphere at the Eisteddfod is always one of encouragement
and fun and delight at the talents of our Pagan family members, so don't
be shy. If you absolutely can not share something, you are more than welcome
to come and simply enjoy the show. We will be feasting as we share, so if
your talent is cooking, there will be ample opportunity to share that as
well.
