All are welcome to enjoy a night of festivity. This is for the young
and young at heart.
Come dressed in magical attire or bright flowing clothing, and remember
you will need to stay warm and wear comfortable shoes.
Bring your holly, ivy, and mistletoe for making head wreaths. Also,
bring your drums and bells for playing in the procession.
Post Wassailing activities:
- Potluck – You are asked and strongly encouraged
to bring generous portions.
Nonalcoholic drinks will be provided by the Grove. ALCOHOL
IS NOT ALLOWED!
- White Elephant gift exchange – Bring a wrapped
gift (Value $10 or less) place it on the table, and go home with
a different gift off the table.You must bring a gift to
get a gift.
- 50/50 Drawing – There will be a 50/50 drawing
held with 50% of the proceeds benefiting the Grove of the Oak and 50%
being
taken home by
the
holder
of the winning ticket.
Tickets are $1.00 each.
SONG PRACTICE: The music and words will soon be available
on the Grove's MySpace page at www.myspace.com/sacgroveoftheoak.
We will also be practicing at the Grove gatherings prior to the event.
When: 21 December 2007
- We begin to gather at 4:00 p.m.
- From 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. we start making wreaths and practicing
songs
- We start the procession at 7:00 p.m.
- Ritual and feast at approximately 9:00 p.m.
